The Simpletones were an early LA punk band from the late 1970's, the second band signed to the new Posh Boy label. Among its members were Snickers of The Klan, Jerry Koskie and Rabit from The Cheifs and Jay Lansford of the Stepmothers, CH3, Rik L Rik and the Urge fame. Notable for their contributions to the Rodney On The ROQ and Beach Boulevard compilation LPs, which included the anthems "California", "I Like Drugs" and "I Have A Date", the last song re-recorded and oft performed by The Vandals.
