
Robert Mándel was born in Budapest in 1957. He took up the hurdy-gurdy when he completed an appranticeship as a musical instrument maker. Performing on instruments of his own making, he has regularly been touring Hungary, Austria, Britain, Finland, France, the Netherlands, the two Germanies, Switzerland and the United States. He has featured on numous radio and television programmes; his articles have been published in various periodicals, both in Hungary and abroad.
