Platinum Weird is Dave Stewart from Eurythmics and songwriter Kara DioGuardi. The band was formed somewhat accidentally in 2004 while the pair were assigned to write songs for Pussycat Dolls. They achieved some notoriety by creating a fictional history placing the band's origin in 1973, complete with a VH1 mockumentary that introduced mythical singer-songwriter Erin Grace. Erin, who bears an intentional resemblance to Stevie Nicks, is supposed to have written several of the songs when befriending Dave and Kara at different times in the past.
