Nynke Laverman (born 14 April 1980 in Weidum, The Netherlands) is a Dutch singer and songwriter who mainly sings in Frisian, the officially acknowledged language of the northern Dutch province of Friesland (Fryslân). On her first album Sielesâlt (2004) she introduced a Frisian brand of the Portugese fado, which became her trademark for a number of years. The album De Maisfrou (2006) had Spanish, Mexican and Cuban influences, musically, whereas Laverman found inspiration for her Nomade album (2009) in Mongolia.
