
Muluu Baqqalaa is an Oromo songwriter born sixty kilometres from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She left her studies at the age of nineteen, and began recording her first album, Damaa Shoolee Kiyaa. The album is a collection of recordings, ranging from love songs, protest songs, and spiritual anthems. Since this time, Mulu has gone on to record and self-release a sophomore album, Akanaa Dubiin
