Goodnight or Sleep was formed in early 2004 by Matt Dermond, Mike Filippone, and Zane Kanevsky. The group originally wrote high-energy, pop-infused dance songs which became very popular at the southern New Jersey shows where they often performed. In late 2004, the group released their first EP titled From a Boy in a Hospital Bed to much local success. However, in early 2005, after more than a year of performing their brand of pop, Goodnight or Sleep decided it was time to stop performing live to begin working on new music and recordings.
