About Carin Levine
Carin Levine (* in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American flutist. Carin Levine studied at the University of Cincinnati with Jack Wellbaum (flute) and Peter Kamnitzer (chamber music), then from 1974 at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Aurèle Nicolet (flute) and Klaus Huber and Brian Ferneyhough (new music). As an interpreter and lecturer (among others at the Darmstadt Summer Courses since 1996), she is particularly committed to contemporary flute literature. At Bärenreiter-Verlag she publishes the series Contemporary Music for Flute.
