There are at least three bands known as Big Light: Big Light (German funk-rock band, founded 1991, disbanded January 1997) Big Light (Katonah, NY ambient project, founded 2014) Big Light (San Francisco, CA, founded 2007): As the story goes, Torphy was inspired by his generation’s current wave of great American rock groups like My Morning Jacket, The Slip, Dr. Dog and Wilco. Joining forces with drummer Bradly Bifulco, they set out to form a band that would follow in those footsteps.
