There are at least three artists named Amanita: 1) Amanita is an American post-rock/progressive metal band from White Lake Township, MI. The band was founded by Jim Tobakos as a solo project, who began playing guitar in 2002. After a string of inconsequential bands, he became involved with the local metal scene, playing in a band called In a White Room. It was then that Tobakos had his first experiences with live shows, recording and interacting with other musicians.
